The Pink Lady Cocktail is extra special for us at Pour'd. We are a couple who founded Pour'd, and Jason proposed to Charlotte with a Pink Lady cocktail.
It is a beautiful drink visually with a bright pink colour and a frothy top. The mix of gin and applejack makes this a spirituous drink. Although pink, it is not too sweet or weak. It is more of a sour drink and is sometimes referred to as The Secret Cocktail.

Pink Lady Cocktail Kit Top Tip:
A Pink Lady cocktail tastes best when served refreshingly cold. So naturally, we suggest having plenty of ice for your drink.
You will need an egg white for this one. We do not include an egg in the kit due to keeping the kit price low and due to eggs not being easy to travel safely.
Also, a good Pink Lady needs a hard shake to mix the egg whites with the rest of the ingredients. Therefore use a jam jar, sports bottle or cocktail shaker to have fun shaking your cocktail hard. The harder the shake, the frothier the drink!
Pink Lady History
The Pink Lady was first referenced in the 1913 Manual of Mixed Drinks by Jacques Straub. The original recipe called for lime juice vs lemon juice. Egg whites were added to The Savoy Cocktail Book in 1930 to give a fluffier texture to the drink. Unfortunately, they also omitted that Apple Jack is hard to obtain in the UK, so they adjusted the recipe accordingly.
As the name suggests, you'd expect a lady to be behind this romantic drink. You would not be wrong! The cocktail's name is in honour of American actress Hazel Dawn. Hazel played the leading lady of The Pink Lady in The Pink Lady musical on Broadway. However, others claim the cocktail name attributes to Elsie de Wolfe, another American Actress and Interior Designer.
